I believe privacy is a fundamental right. This policy explains how I handle your information when you use my sleep calculator and other tools at ZenDawn.

• Calculator Inputs: Sleep preferences, wake/bedtime, sleep duration, and chronotype quiz responses (if you choose to take it).
• Email Address: Only if you voluntarily join the Premium waitlist or subscribe to updates.

Automatically Collected Information

• Usage Data: I may collect anonymous analytics data (page views, button clicks, time spent) to improve the tools. This does not identify you personally.
• Browser Information: Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, referrer) for security and performance purposes.

How I Use Your Information

Calculator Data (Client-Side Processing)

Your sleep calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser. I do not transmit this data to my servers or store it in a database.

When you generate a shareable link, your inputs are encoded in the URL itself. This allows you to share results without me storing your data. Anyone with the link can see the encoded parameters.

Email Addresses

If you provide an email address for the Premium waitlist, I use it solely to:

• Notify you when Premium features launch
• Send occasional product updates (you can unsubscribe anytime)

I will never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.

Analytics

I use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how people use the tools. This helps me improve the product. Analytics data is anonymized and aggregated.

Data Storage and Security

• No Personal Data Storage: I do not store your calculator inputs on my servers. Results are generated in real-time in your browser.
• URL-Encoded Results: Shareable links contain your inputs in the URL. Treat these links as you would any personal information.
• Premium Users (Future): When Premium launches, saved schedules and tracking data will be encrypted and stored securely. You can delete your data at any time.

Cookies and Tracking

I do not use tracking cookies for advertising. I may use essential cookies for:

• Remembering your preferences (e.g., dark mode)
• Anonymous analytics (if you consent)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting core calculator functionality.

Third-Party Services

I may use third-party services for:

• Analytics: Privacy-focused tools like Plausible or Simple Analytics (no personal data shared)
• Email: Email service provider for waitlist notifications (e.g., ConvertKit, compliant with GDPR)
• Hosting: Netlify or similar (does not access user inputs)

I only work with providers that respect user privacy and comply with GDPR and CCPA.

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of any personal data I hold about you
• Delete: Request deletion of your data (email from waitlist, future Premium data)
• Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from emails at any time
• Portability: Export your data (Premium users, when available)
